Estonia's NyxAir eyes capacity upgauge on Kuressaare PSO
22.11.2022 - 13:17 UTCNyxAir (OJ, Tallinn Lennart Meri) is evaluating options to increase its capacity on the subsidised and increasingly popular domestic Estonian route connecting Tallinn Lennart Meri to Kuressaare, on the island of Saaremaa, public broadcaster ERR has reported.
"At the moment, we don't have any other aircraft to which we can change, but maybe we will come up with something for the summer period because, during the summer, the load factor was actually very good, regardless of the day," Chief Executive Jaanus Ojamets said.
The Estonian carrier currently deploys one of its two ATR42-500s on the route (the other one is currently wet-leased to BRA - Braathens Regional Airways (TF, Trollhättan)). It is already the largest type in NyxAir's fleet and was inducted when the carrier won the Kuressaare PSO contract in late 2020. While summer load factors on the route reached 79%, current capacity is already...
Sweden's BRA ventures outside Nordics, wet-leases S2000

Services to the French city will begin on February 20 but have been scheduled only through March 24, 2023, coinciding with the period of winter holidays in Swedish schools. BRA will wet-lease an Saab 2000 from Estonia's NyxAir to operate the route.
The ch-aviation schedules module shows that BRA currently focuses on serving the Swedish domestic market, where nearly 96% of its total scheduled capacity is deployed. It also connects Stockholm Bromma with Aarhus in Denmark (5x weekly) and Helsinki Vantaa in Finland (6x weekly).
The carrier had much more ambitious international growth plans pre-pandemic. However, as the COVID-19 crisis forced it into bankruptcy restructuring and suspend operations, BRA turned to the domestic market once it was able to restart. It is now planning to add five A319-100s for international...
