ZIPAIR (ZG, Tokyo Narita) will remove the "Z" logo featured on its aircraft tails given use of the symbol implies support for Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The JAL Group subsidiary said in a statement that the requisite livery modifications would take place from June 18 onwards.

Despite their recent rise to infamy, Russia's use of "Z" and "V" letters on its vehicles is nothing new as both symbols were used on Russian vehicles during the war in Syria and during the 2015 Russian invasion of Crimea. As such, "Z" stands for Eastern Military district while "V" denotes Naval Infantry.

ZIPAIR operates four B787-8s.
