Aglow Air Cargo (Lagos) has applied for an air operator's certificate (AOC) for non-scheduled domestic and continental freighter operations with two ATR72-500(F)s, Cargo Facts reports.

The nascent carrier plans to operate dedicated cargo flights within Nigeria and across western and central Africa. It is a subsidiary of Aglow Aviation Support Services Limited, registered with Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission on April 7, 2015, ch-aviation research revealed.

Neither the company nor the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) was immediately available for comment.

In October 2021, the company said it was positioning itself to "meet the increasing need for airfreight across the region with dedicated last-mile cargo flight services". Managing Director Tayo Ojuri elaborated: "Our goal at Aglow Air Cargo is to bridge the gap and proffer solutions to the increased need for air cargo in the logistics value chain in West and Central Africa. We want to be the company of choice for seamless delivery experiences."

According to the company website, Aglow is also establishing warehouse hubs in major cities in Nigeria where customers can drop their goods for boarding. Regulatory filings show that subsidiary Aglow Warehouse and Logistics Service Limited was registered on February 22, 2022.
