UK's Titan Airways ends B757 operations
17.05.2023 - 17:35 UTCTitan Airways (ZT, London Stansted) has retired its sole remaining B757-200, saying that while the almost 23-year-old frame played a big part in the UK charter specialist's success, the type's retirement will make way for quieter more fuel-efficient aircraft like the A321-200NX(LR).
G-ZAPX (msn 29309) operated its final revenue flights for Titan Airways on May 4, 2023, when it flew from Victoria Falls to London Stansted via Accra, completing the final legs of a private charter. The jet went to Titan Airways in 2006 after Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas) operated it for six years.
"We first became an operator of the B757 in the early 2000s, its arrival transforming Titan from a short haul European carrier to a worldwide operator," the airline said on its social media feeds.
In addition to G-ZAPX, Titan Airways has operated three other B757-200s. It flew G-ZAPU (msn 26151) between 2003 and 2010, it's first of the B757 type. That aircraft is now at FedEx Express (FX, Memphis International)....

Bulgaria's Fly2Sky adds two A321s
28.10.2021 - 18:15 UTCFly2Sky (F6, Sofia) has expanded its fleet with the addition of two 2001-build A321-200s, its largest type yet.
The Bulgarian ACMI/charter specialist has already registered LZ-MDL (msn 1503) in the country. The aircraft is owned by GECAS and was originally delivered to Air Jamaica. Later, it was operated by AtlasGlobal through November 2019, when the Turkish airline suspended all scheduled operations amidst a liquidity crisis. The Airbus narrowbody has been stored at Montpellier since then and remains there, for the time being, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.
The second A321 will be OE-ILB (msn 1451), also owned by GECAS and formerly operated by Volare Airlines, Cyprus Turkish Airlines, Aigle Azur, and AtlasGlobal. It, too, has been in storage at Montpelier airport since November 13, 2019. It will be re-registered as LZ-MDF in Bulgaria.
Fly2Sky said the aircraft would be available to the ACMI/charter market in a flexible cabin configuration, both with a passenger cabin and with seats removed for cargo-only operations.
