Sterling European Airways (Copenhagen Kastrup) parent Fons Eignarhaldsfelag will take over Maersk Air (DM/Copenhagen Kastrup) and integrate the carrier into Sterling European Airways. The carrier will operate a total of 30 B737-500, B737-700 and B737-800 aircraft from bases in Copenhagen, Billund, Oslo Gardermoen and Stockholm Arlanda. The carriers have independently announced new routes from 2006, Sterling is planning to add new routes from Stockholm Arlanda to Edinburgh and Faro, Maersk Air is planning to add new routes from Copenhagen to Bastia, Florence, Naples and Thessaloniki as well as from Billund to Athens and Barcelona.
