PLUNA (Montevideo Carrasco) will lose its fleet of CRJ900s to creditors this Thursday, January 9, following a Montevideo court ruling. Uruguayan paper, La Red, said the bankrupt carrier has requested the funds raised from the sale be deposited into an independent court-monitored account to allow it to assess which creditor has priority over whom. In addition, the issue of a USD600'000 debt for the maintenance of the jets has also been settled by trustees involved in the liquidation. Once gone, the trust set up to oversee PLUNA's grounded fleet will also be dissolved.
