BoraJet Airlines (Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) has begun phasing out its fleet five ATR72-500s as it gradually transitions into an Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International) jet fleet. According to Skyliner Aviation, the Turkish carrier ferried its first turboprop, TC-YAC (cn 701), to Billund on August 4 on return to its lessor.
The Turkish carrier, which has already taken delivery of three out of five E190s on lease from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), plans to also use the jets to open up new regional flights to Northern Cyprus, France and Lebanon.
