Juneyao Airlines (Shanghai Hongqiao) has announced plans to open a branch company in Jiangsu province, it first outside of its Shanghai hub. China's Carnoc reports the company will help establish the carrier's presence in the Eastern Chinese market.

Juneyao Airlines established a base in Jiangsu's capital, Nanjing, in March this year as part of a cooperation agreement with the airport's management company.

A second branch company, in Southwest China, is also under consideration.

Juneyao Airlines operates thirty-eight A320-200s and twelve A321-200s on scheduled passenger flights throughout China as well as to South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau.
