The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has denied claims made by Iraq's Minister for Transportation Kadhim al-Hamami that Iraqi Airways (IA, Baghdad) has been removed from its No-Fly list.
Al-Hamami told a press conference in Baghdad last week the state-owned carrier had been removed from the list following improvements in its safety oversight protocols.
However, in a separate press statement issued Friday, February 3, EASA said no such move had taken place and that Iraqi Airways remains embargoed.
