Juneyao Airlines (Shanghai Hongqiao) has announced it has formally rebranded itself as Juneyao Air (HO, Shanghai Hongqiao). The carrier said in a statement to mark the occasion that its first two B787-9s, due to arrive from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) during the second half of this year, will sport its updated livery.

Juneyao Air operates forty-one A320-200s and twenty-seven A321-200s. According to its FY17 disclosure, it will add three B787s to its fleet this year followed by three more in 2019 and four more in 2020. The widebody jets will allow Juneyao Air to implement its internationalization strategy through the development of Shanghai Pudong into a major connecting hub serving cities in North America, Europe, and Australia.

Juneyao Air's low-cost unit, 9 Air (AQ, Guangzhou), operates fifteen B737-800s and will add four more of the type this year followed by five more in 2019, and six in 2020. It also plans to introduce B737-8 equipment.
