Jet Airways (JAI, Mumbai International) has extended the deadline for prospective investors for submitting Expressions of Interest by one week to August 10, 2019, the company said in an announcement posted in all major Indian newspapers.

According to Reuters, the deadline was extended at the request of some of the potential investors. Moneycontrol reported earlier that the consortium of Etihad Airways and the Hinduja Group was not ready by the original deadline of August 3 and wanted to wait a bit longer before submitting the EOI.

An employee consortium backed by AdiGro Aviation is also still considering whether to enter the formal bidding process. No other parties have ever confirmed their intention to submit an EOI or a bid.

Jet Airways' total liabilities exceed INR360 billion rupees (USD5.2 billion), including over INR100 billion rupees owed to operational vendors and over INR85 billion owed to the creditors. The airline suspended operations in mid-April 2019.
