Endeavor Air (9E, Minneapolis/St. Paul) has announced plans to open its sixth crew base, in Cincinnati International, in 1Q 2020, with the decision made as a direct result of planned growth at the airline.

A wholly-owned regional subsidiary of Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson), the Endeavour Cincinnati operation will initially open with 40 pilots and 40 flight attendants and will become a home for the regional carrier's CRJ700 and CRJ900 fleets. The Ohio airport is already the sixth-largest operation for the carrier in terms of weekly seats, seeing an average of 14 aircraft stationed there per night.

Currently, it ranks only behind Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson, New York La Guardia, New York JFK, Detroit Metropolitan, and Minneapolis/St. Paul in terms of scale. Weekly frequencies from the airport already total 215, but Endeavour expects to expand its Cincinnati network and as a result, daily departures are scheduled to increase by around 25%.

Along with the opening of Cincinnati in 1Q 2020, Endeavor plans to increase flying at its Detroit base, which already offers around 370 weekly departures.

The airline has also begun taking delivery of the 20 dual-class aircraft that were announced in August.
