EZAir (Bonaire) has launched its first scheduled route to mainland South America, to Barranquilla in Colombia.

The first flight from Curacao operated on January 14, 2020. EZAir plans to run the route 2x weekly initially but plans to double this going forward. All flights are onboard Beech 1900D turboprops. EZAir spokesperson Sueyenne Dammermam said that depending on the success of its flights to Barranquilla, the airline could contemplate scheduled flights to other destinations on the Colombian coast.

While EZAir operated charter flights to Colombia in the past, its scheduled network has so far consisted entirely of flights between the so-called ABC islands - Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. All three are part of the Netherlands, although their status within the kingdom varies.

EZAir operates two Beech 1900Ds, purchased through a sponsorship by the Dutch Caribbean Pension Fund (Pensioenfonds Caribisch Nederland - PCN), and two BN-2s. Besides scheduled and charter flights, the airline also operates medevac flights.
