Ukraine International Airlines (PS, Kyiv Boryspil) has announced that it will restart transatlantic flights on July 19, 2020, initially operating weekly between Kyiv Boryspil and Toronto Pearson.

The airline will operate the route to Canada using its B767-300ER widebodies. It has four of the type in its fleet but two have been in storage since well before the COVID-19 pandemic hit; one since October 2019 and the other since July 2019. The other two aircraft of the type, UR-GEA (msn 25280) and UR-GED (msn 25536), have been used to operate passenger and cargo charter flights in recent months, including some services to Toronto and other destinations in North America.

UIA's widebody fleet also entails three B777-200ERs, of which one has been in storage at Kyiv Boryspil since December 2019 while the other two were ferried to Teruel in early April 2020, having ended revenue services in March.

The Ukrainian flag carrier's pre-COVID North American network also included services to New York JFK. UIA has yet to announce any details regarding the resumption of its US flights.
