The Romanian civil aviation authority (Autoritatea Aeronautică Civilă Română - AACR) suspended the Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) of Rom Cargo Airlines (NJ, Bucharest Henri Coanda) on December 14, 2021, just over a month after it was granted.

In a statement to BoardingPass.ro, the regulator said the decision was based on European Union Regulation 965/2012 but only cited the article that tasks national CAAs with oversight of carriers. It refused to discuss detailed reasons for the move, citing the confidential nature of its communication with the now-grounded cargo carrier.

Rom Cargo Airlines was certified on November 5, 2021, and operates a single B747-400(BCF), YR-FSA (msn 24458). The freighter had been plying cargo charters between Europe and China. It has been parked at Bishkek - an airport used by the airline for refuelling stops - since December 12, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. Its last departure from Europe was from Budapest.

The airline does not have a website or publicly available contact details.
