FlyMe (Maldives) (Malé) is planning to retire its only ATR42-500 by the end of 2022 and has contracted BLAC to market the turboprop.

8Q-VAX (msn 647) is a 16.3-year-old turboprop which was previously operated by Air Calédonie (TY, Nouméa Magenta), and has been in FlyMe's fleet since 2017, the ch-aviation fleets module shows. The aircraft is currently deployed out of Malé on domestic routes to Dharavandhoo Island and Maamigili, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.

FlyMe is also selling one of its two ATR72-500s. Both aircraft are of 2002 vintage and are currently inactive. The carrier's fleet also comprises one active ATR72-600.

The Maldivian carrier did not respond to ch-aviation's request for more information concerning its fleet transformation plan.
