Nearly a month after taking its first and so far only aircraft and two weeks after obtaining its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), Sky Vision Airlines (SE, Cairo International) launched revenue operations on domestic routes in Egypt on January 2, 2023.

The carrier said it operated the first revenue flight with the A320-200 SU-SKB (msn 2204) between Sharm el Sheikh and Cairo International, following an earlier ferry from Hurghada. Since then, the 18-year-old aircraft has been operating between the three airports on charter flights.

Sky Vision Airlines plans to take a second A320, N258CL (msn 2589), within days. For now, the 17.2-year-old aircraft remains parked at San Bernardino.

The start-up plans to focus on the charter market in Africa and the Middle East, and in the long run, has plans to add widebody aircraft - most likely A330s - to serve destinations further afield in Asia.
