Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR, Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) has officially joined Skyteam as the first South American carrier on August 29. Skyteam is significantly behind Oneworld with LAN Airlines (Santiago de Chile) and its subsidiaries in Argentina, Ecuador and Peru as well as Star Alliance with TAM Linhas Aéreas (São Paulo Congonhas), Avianca (Bogotá), Trans American Airlines (Lima International).
