Arik Air (W3, Lagos) has at least temporarily suspended all of its domestic flights blaming a dispute with the Nigerian airport authority FAAN as the reason for the indefinite suspension of flights. According to FAAN, Arik Air owes the airport authority several million USD in unpaid fees. Arik Air disputes these claims and has only confirmed that it owes FAAN a much smaller amount but that "hostilities" and "threats" received and "government corruption" would not allow a safe operation. Arik's international flights including long-haul services to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, London Heathrow and New York JFK are not affected and continue to operate as normal.
