Monarch Airlines (1968) (London Luton) has cancelled its wet-lease agreement with Lithuanian charter carrier Aurela (Vilnius) with immediate effect after one the latter's B737-300s (LY-SKA, MSN 23972) has overrun the runway at Birmingham, GB on landing on a flight for Monarch from Nice. Monarch has wet-leased several aircraft to increase its capacity temporarily because of high demand during the summer months. It currently also uses two B737-400s from AirExplore (ED, Bratislava) and Air Italy (2005) (Milan Malpensa) as well as a B757-200 from Titan Airways (ZT, London Stansted).
