Charter carrier Osprey Wings (La Ronge) is undergoing a change in ownership for the second time in a year. The new owner is Moose Jaw-based agri-firm JGL, led by Bill Jameson and Glen Thompson, according to a statement published by Canada's Pattison Media.

A family business like Osprey Wings, JGL was founded in 1979 and has expanded its operations from a regional livestock trader to include distribution services throughout North America.

Osprey Wings was founded in 1961 by now ageing Garry and Bonnie Thompson, operating on the Churchill river system in Missinipe and La Ronge, Northern Saskatchewan, providing charters to fishing lodges, private cabins, and sightseeing spots and fire fighting, exploration, and surveying services.

In March 2023, it was announced the Thompsons had found an undisclosed buyer as they were looking to retire. The transaction was to be concluded in April 2023.

Meanwhile, the new ownership group looks to carry on the quality of Osprey Wings and is now taking bookings for the 2024 summer season. "Our group is dedicated to continuing the legacy where the Thompson family has left off," the statement read.

Osprey Wings' fleet includes DHC-2 Beavers, DHC-3 Turbo Otters, and DHC-6 Twin Otters on floats and skis. According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the carrier owns one Dash 8-100 and one Dash 8-200.
