Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has placed a firm order with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for 40 additional CRJ900 regional jets with deliveries expected to start in the second half of 2013. It has also secured operations for additional 30 CRJ-900s and Bombardier will assist Delta with the phase out of 60 CRJ200s. Delta will announce later which of its regional partners will operate the aircraft under the Delta Connection brand on its behalf. Currently Pinnacle Airlines (Memphis International) operates 57 CRJ-900s on behalf of Delta while two other Delta Connection carriers SkyWest Airlines (OO, St. George Municipal) and ExpressJet Airlines (Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) operate 29 and 15 respectively.
