Uni Air (B7, Taipei Songshan) has placed a firm order for nineteen ATR72-600s with three more purchase rights directly from ATR - Avions de Transport Régional to renew and expand its fleet.
The airline, a regional affiliate of EVA Air, has earmarked up to USD437 million for the acquisition of the new turboprops. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2032. They will gradually replace the existing fleet of fourteen ATR72-600s, ordered by Uni Air in 2011 and delivered between 2012 and 2016.
The new aircraft will be outfitted with new-generation Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127XT-M engines, replacing the PW127M power units on the current ATR72-600s.
The ATR72-600s are the sole in-house aircraft operated by Uni Air. The carrier is currently also wet-leasing three A321-200s from EVA Air. Uni Air operates predominantly domestically with its main base at Taipei Songshan, although its network also comprises limited cross-strait routes to mainland China.
