Tassili Travail Aerien (Algiers), a division of Algeria's Tassili Airlines, has ordered two Cessna 408 SkyCourier aircraft, making the charter operator the launch customer for the aero-medical equipped Cessna (twin turboprop).
Aircraft manufacturer Textron Aviation said after the signing during the Paris Air Show that both SkyCouriers - the first to be ordered in Africa - will be configured with a medevac module that allows the aircraft to rapidly switch from cargo and passenger operations to medical evacuation missions.
The aircraft will be based at Algiers and Hassi Messaoud, the company said, with delivery expected in 2026.
The operator flies domestic charters on behalf of state-owned oil firm Sonatrach Group (which also owns Tassili Airlines), as well as international oil companies, according to the company website. Its fixed-wing fleet comprises a mix of Beech 1900Ds, Let 410Ds, Cessna (single turboprop) C208Bs, and AT-802 Air Tractors. The airline did not immediately respond to queries from ch-aviation for additional comment.
