Vietravel Airlines (VU, Hue Phu Bai International) took delivery of its first A320-200 on August 4, 2025. The airline acquired the aircraft, making it the second company-owned airframe in its fleet.

VN-A136 (msn 8696) arrived at Hanoi Noi Bai International, still registered as N695NK, after a ferry flight from Goodyear via Kapolei, Majuro, and Guam International, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. It is a 2019-vintage A320-200 powered by International Aero Engines V2500 engines. It features a dual-class cabin layout with 174 economy class seats and eight business class seats. The aircraft was previously operated and owned by Spirit Airlines, ch-aviation data shows.

"We are very clear that developing an owned fleet is not just an operational matter, but also a way to affirm our internal capabilities, long-term commitment, and ability to control service quality. This is the foundation for a sustainable development strategy that is competitive at a regional level," said chairman Do Vinh Quang.

The aircraft is set to enter service on August 9.

The Vietnamese carrier plans to boost its company-owned fleet to between 30 and 50 aircraft by 2030. The company wants to expand its network to Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and the Middle East. The news about fleet and network expansion comes as the company plans to boost its share capital in 2026 by VND2.6 trillion dong (USD100 million).

According to ch-aviation data, Vietravel Airlines currently operates two A321-200s: VN-A129 (msn 6672) owned by the airline and VN-A289 (msn 6168) dry-leased from Minsheng Financial Leasing. The airline mostly operates domestic services from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi Noi Bai International, and also connects the two cities with Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.
