Transwing (Austria) has taken delivery of the first of two Citation M2 Gen2s it ordered directly from Textron Aviation, the company announced on social media.
The brand-new aircraft, OE-FBM (msn 525-1197), was ferried from Textron Aviation's production facilities at Wichita Eisenhower to Zurich between August 12 and 14, with stops at Hamilton, ON, Goose Bay, Narsarsuaq, Reykjavik Domestic, Glasgow Prestwick, and Vienna.
Despite being based in Switzerland, Transwing secured an Austrian air operator's certificate (AOC) in February 2025 following the addition of a Swiss-registered 5.7-year-old Citation M2, which had been the company's sole aircraft until now.
At the time of certification, Transwing's chief executive officer Mark Meyer confirmed plans to add two newly built Citation M2 Gen2s, the final pair of the series, which would be placed on the Swiss register under the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Article 83bis agreement between Switzerland and Austria. The units were expected to be delivered in June and July, respectively. The second aircraft will be unit msn 525-1201.
Transwing is the third Austrian AOC holder currently operating the Citation M2 Gen2, after Avcon Jet, which added one unit in late 2024, and AFS Alpine Flightservice, which has operated German-registered aircraft since late last year. Additionally, five Citation M2s are registered in Austria, with Salzburg Jet Aviation operating two, while Avcon Jet, Airlink (Austria), and Fly Tyrol each operate one.
