Icelandair (FI, Reykjavik Keflavik) has signed a dry-lease agreement with CALC for two additional A321-200NX(LR)s. The aircraft are scheduled for deliveries in late 2026, the lessor has announced. The additional units come on top of the existing leases for seven A321LRs, of which four have already been delivered.

Icelandair's spokesperson told ch-aviation that the new aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1000 engines and will feature the same seating layout as the rest of its A321LR fleet, with 165 economy class seats and 22 business class seats.

The news about the lease of additional A321LRs comes only a month after Icelandair hinted at a new aircraft deal, as the company is looking to add more airliners before the arrival of its first A321-200NY(XLR) in 2029. Icelandair is satisfied with the performance of the recently inducted aircraft variant that is replacing the ageing B757s.

Apart from A321LRs, the airline operates seventeen B737-8s, four B737-9s, eleven B757-200s, three B767-300ERs, and one B767-300ER(BCF). Its subsidiary Flugfélag Íslands operates three DHC-8-Q200s and three DHC-8-Q400s, ch-aviation data shows.

As previously reported, Icelandair wants to increase the number of aircraft in its fleet to between 70 and 100 by 2037.
