Parata Air (WE, Yangyang) will launch operations on September 30, 2025, after being reissued an air operator's certificate in early September.
According to a press release, the start-up will operate daily flights between Yangyang and Jeju until at least October 25, 2025, using a 294-seat A330-200, HL8709 (msn 1016).
From October 26, Parata Air plans to expand its domestic network with daily flights between Seoul Gimpo and Jeju. Moreover, the Yangyang-Jeju route will increase to 2x daily in the winter schedule.
As previously reported by ch-aviation, the airline has also applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) for slots at Seoul Incheon, where it intends to launch international flights to Nha Trang Cam Ranh, Da Nang, Osaka Kansai, and Tokyo Narita.
Local residents have long called for the resumption of services at Yangyang, which has had no scheduled flights since the collapse of Fly Gangwon (Yangyang), Parata Air's predecessor, in May 2023. Local newspaper Gangwon Domin Ilbo reported that residents are urging stronger public-private cooperation to sustain new routes and eventually establish direct services to Japan, China, and other Southeast Asian destinations.
Parata Air's fleet currently comprises two aircraft - the A330-200 and one A320-200, HL8742 (msn 3978). By year-end, it expects to add a second A330-200, HL8714 (msn 919), and another A320-200, HL8741 (msn 3976).
