AVi8 Air Capital has announced plans to launch a branded franchise ACMI airline based at Ho Chi Minh City to provide additional wet lease capacity in Southeast Asia, using An-320200 and A321-200(P2F) aircraft. Earlier, the investment company said it is expanding its brand with new ACMI charter airlines using B737-800 and A320 aircraft types, with further franchise announcements expected. Avi8 is backed by Ed Wegel, who is also relaunching Pan American Airways in the United States.
