ENG Aviation (ENG, Houston Hobby) has added a first Citation Jet 3, the company announced on social media, joining a Citation Jet 3+.
The newly added aircraft, N196JH (msn 525B-0395), is 12.9 years old and is configured for up to seven passengers. Based at Dallas Love Field, it was first active under ENG Aviation's 'ENG' code on October 31, flying between Shreveport Regional and Chicago Midway. The jet was formerly operated privately in the United States out of Dallas Addison.
The Citation Jet 3 joins a 1.6-year-old, eight-seat Citation Jet 3+, also stationed at Dallas Love Field, and a 2004-built, nine-seat Citation Excel, inducted earlier this year and based at Houston Hobby.
As of July, ENG Aviation's Part 135-certified fleet included a 6.7-year-old Citation Jet 4, N889LB (msn 525C-0290), stationed at Houston Hobby. The nine-seat aircraft, which is no longer listed on the carrier's website, last operated under the 'ENG' code on September 23 and has since been based at Mattoon/Charleston.
Beyond this, a second nine-seat Citation Excel, N560SJ (msn 560-5215), was active under the 'ENG' code on October 18, flying between Wichita Eisenhower and Moline, where it remains parked. It is unclear whether this 24-year-old aircraft has been added to ENG Aviation's Part 135 fleet. ch-aviation has reached out to ENG Aviation for comment, but no reply was received by the time of publication.
This was the last of two Citation Excels under the Part 135 certificate of Causey Aviation Charters (Liberty Causey), which, as of July, further included a Phenom 100, a Hawker 800XPi(2), and a Falcon 2000 added earlier this year. The carrier previously operated several other Citation-series jets, including a Citation V, retired in March, that subsequently joined the Part 135 fleet of Air Trek (Punta Gorda, FL).
