Silk Way West Airlines (7L, Baku Heydar Aliev International) has doubled its commitment for A350F freighters by converting its options for two more units of the type from Airbus.

"This order, bringing our total commitment to four aircraft, marks a major milestone in our company’s growth and reflects our confidence in the future of sustainable air freight. The A350F will strengthen our leading position in the global air freight market as we continue to modernise our fleet and reduce our carbon footprint,” president Wolfgang Meier said.

The airline ordered two A350Fs with a further two options in 2022. It previously said that the aircraft would be used as a bridge between the airline's current fleet of B747 and B777 freighters and the future B777-8Fs.

ch-aviation data shows the carrier's current fleet comprises five B747-400FSCDs, five B747-8Fs, and three B777-200Fs. It has an order for three more B777-200Fs and two B777-8Fs.
