Air Peace (P4, Lagos) has entered into a new ACMI agreement, for a B737-800 from AirExplore (ED, Bratislava), to compensate for capacity gaps following the recent return of wet-leased A320-200s amid the collapse of SmartLynx Airlines.

ADS-B data shows that the 21.2-year-old B737-800, OM-IEX (msn 33016), was ferried from Bratislava to Lagos on November 13 and has been deployed on domestic routes to Abuja, Asaba, Kano, and Owerri. Air Peace does not currently operate the type in-house.

According to the African aviation news site Newsaero, a second aircraft of the type is expected from AirExplore in the coming weeks. AirExplore has nine B737-800s in its fleet.

ch-aviation fleets data shows that the company-owned OM-IEX carries 189 passengers in a single-class cabin. It was first delivered to Sun Country Airlines in 2004 and was afterwards operated by Transavia Airlines and PrivatAir (Germany).
