Buraq Air (UZ, Tripoli International) says it plans to expand its route network into Asia and Africa after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for ten A320neo at the Dubai Air Show in November. Libya’s biggest aircraft deal in a decade will see the privately owned carrier more than triple its fleet size as it seeks to take advantage of the country’s increasing demand for air travel. It currently operates three A320-200s, one B737-400 and one B737-800, and recently took delivery of its first E190, to be seconded to the fleet of subsidiary Buraq Express. The airline, which expects to begin receiving the Airbus narrowbodies from 2031, did not say which countries it intends to operate to.
