Lufthansa Group has incorporated a new subsidiary, Lufthansa Aviation, which will act as a joint management and coordination unit for Lufthansa CityLine and Lufthansa City Airlines. The two narrowbody and regional capacity providers remain independent airlines, but the holding company plans to eventually shutter the former and transfer all aircraft to the latter. The group said that the new subsidiary will "ensure that administrative [tasks] and maintenance run smoothly". Lufthansa Aviation is headquartered at Munich airport and managed by Peter Albers, the managing director of Lufthansa City Airlines.
