Smart Aviation (Indonesia) (Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) has replaced Susi Air (SQS, Jakarta Halim) as the designated operator for subsidised pioneer routes at Singkep. The airline won the government tender and commenced operations on January 12, 2026, utilising Cessna (single turboprop) 208 Caravan aircraft to serve the airport in the Riau Islands in Indonesia.
This development is part of the carrier's wider 2026 public service obligation (PSO) contracts rollout. Smart Aviation also secured contracts for the Nabire and Langgur Karel Sadsuitubun regional coordinators in Eastern Indonesia, launching flights to 15 inland destinations in Papua and key island links in Maluku earlier in January 2026.
