flynas (XY, Riyadh) has announced that it will open a new base at Abha on March 29, 2026. The base in southern Saudi Arabia will be the airline's fifth, after Riyadh, Jeddah International, Dammam, and Madinah. The LCC will launch six new international routes out of the city, including year-round services to Dubai International, Cairo International, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen, and Addis Ababa International and seasonal routes to Kuwait and Trabzon. This complements five existing domestic routes. flynas plans to eventually double its network from Abha. There are currently no airlines based out of Abha, although both Saudia and its LCC subsidiary flyadeal maintain a strong presence at the airport.
