The United States Federal Aviation Administration - FAA has begun issuing temporary certificates of registration for aircraft previously registered through Southern Aircraft Consultancy Inc Trustee (SACI), following the trust's acquisition by Valiair. The move comes after the FAA determined that United Kingdom-based SACI did not meet United States citizenship requirements at the time of registration, which led to the invalidation of all aircraft registrations held by the trust and the grounding of over 600 aircraft in mid-January. The temporary certificates allow affected aircraft to return to service while full registrations are processed. The remaining aircraft registered through the trust are expected to be reregistered within the coming weeks.
