Shanxi Victory General Aviation (VGA, Changzhi) signed an agreement with COMAC for up to six C909 firefighting aircraft at the 2026 Singapore Airshow on February 3. The deal consists of three firm orders and three options for the variant.
According to the manufacturer, the C909 firefighting variant received airworthiness approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in December 2025. The aircraft features a cabin configured with both a water tank zone and a passenger area. It has a maximum payload of 10 tonnes of water, fire retardant, or extinguishing bags, and is equipped with 19 seats to accommodate emergency personnel transport.
Founded in 2010, Shanxi Victory General Aviation is a CAAC-approved general aviation enterprise specialising in emergency rescue, forest fire suppression, weather modification, and short-haul transport. The operator stated the acquisition would strengthen its multi-aircraft collaborative operational capabilities.
