The management of Donegal airport is concerned that the schedule of subsidised Emerald Airlines (Ireland) (EA, Dublin International) flights to Dublin International under a new public service obligation (PSO) contract will worsen the region's connectivity. The new contract will enter into force at the end of March 2026 and will see a midday flight replaced with a morning departure. Emerald Airlines will also no longer overnight an ATR72-600 at Donegal. The new schedule "neither meets the needs of customers nor do they make any commercial sense," the airport warned. The Irish government promised to review the flights on a regular basis.
