Air Vanuatu (NF, Port Vila) is resuming ATR - Avions de Transport Régional operations after it repaired its sole ATR72-600, YJ-AV73 (msn 1358), which had been grounded since August 1, 2025. The 9.4-year-old aircraft conducted a test flight over Port Vila on February 26 and was subsequently flown to Nadi four days later, as per ADS-B data.

Chief executive Joseph Laloyer told local broadcaster VBTC News that passenger operations with the ATR are to resume on March 3. Engine maintenance issues had delayed the aircraft's return to service, forcing Air Vanuatu to heavily rely on its DHC-6-300 fleet, now comprising four aircraft, as well as wet-leased capacity from Air Calédonie.
