AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines (J2, Baku Heydar Aliev International) resumed direct domestic flights from Baku Heydar Aliev International to Nakhichevan on March 9, after a four-day interruption caused by the risk of drone attacks, allegedly from Iran. The route was temporarily switched to Igdir in neighbouring Türkiye, with onward transport on buses. Nakhichevan is an exclave separated from the remainder of Azerbaijan by Armenian territory, making it heavily reliant on the up to 8x daily E190 flights.
