Viet Nam has formally allocated B727-200 XU-RKJ (msn 20989), abandoned at Hanoi Noi Bai International, to the Vietnam Aviation Academy for use as a training aid. The Ministry of Construction tasked the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam with organising the handover under Decree No. 186/2025/ND-CP governing the management and use of public assets. Formerly operated by Royal Khmer Airlines (Phnom Penh), the 50.8-year-old derelict aircraft has been stranded at the Hanoi airport since 2007.
