Arkia Israeli Airlines (IZ, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) resumes flights between Tel Aviv and New York JFK on March 18, 2026, following the suspension of its 3x weekly route at the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran on February 28. The airline said it would introduce an operational stop at Larnaca en route to New York, while flights to Tel Aviv will be direct. El Al Israel Airlines has also resumed New York flights, with both carriers initially prioritising existing ticket holders. On March 16, Israel's Ministry of Transport authorised all of the country's commercial carriers to resume flights to North America.
Arkia debuted its route in February 2025 with an A330-900N damp-leased from Iberojet (Portugal), and thereafter with A330-200s from GullivAir under an ACMI agreement. Its wet-lease authorisation to fly to New York expires on March 28, 2026.
