Air Côte d'Ivoire (HF, Abidjan) has secured a XOF35 billion CFA franc (USD62 million) loan from the West African Development Bank (Banque Ouest Africaine de Développement - BOAD) for the construction of a regional MRO centre at Abidjan.

In a statement on March 27, BOAD said the facility will service the airline's fleet and those of third-party operators in West and Central Africa.

Ecofin Agency reports the maintenance centre is intended to ease operational constraints and lower maintenance costs.

Air Côte d'Ivoire also recently signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the African Development Bank (AfDB) for aircraft acquisition financing, as well as pilot and technician training and sustainable aviation initiatives.

The West African carrier has ordered four E175s with a further eight purchase rights directly from Embraer, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027, coinciding with the gradual phasing out of its turboprop fleet of four DHC-8-Q400s.

The rest of the fleet comprises five A319-100s, two A320-200s, one inactive A320-200N, and two recently inducted A330-900N aircraft.
