The US state of Oklahoma has earmarked up to USD3 million to acquire a new state aircraft to replace its ageing Beech (twin turboprop) King Air C90A, N880DT (msn LJ-1288). The acquisition is a part of the new USD12.9 billion state budget, and comes seven years after governor Kevin Stitt decided to sell another King Air, branding it a cost-inefficient mode of travel. The aircraft will be acquired through the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and will be based at Oklahoma City Wiley Post, but the budget did not specify the type. The C90A is currently the only aircraft owned by the state DOT.
