Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has withdrawn its opposition to the planned Manila Ninoy Aquino International-Chicago O'Hare service of Philippine Airlines (PR, Manila Ninoy Aquino International), paving the way for the US Department of Transportation to approve the Filipino carrier's request for amended authority. The approval, issued April 9, 2026, grants PAL a renewable one-year permit to operate scheduled services between the two cities.
Delta had earlier urged deferral pending assurances on reciprocal Manila access but moved on April 3 to withdraw its objection, requesting any approval be limited to one year. The DOT said it saw "no reason to delay" action and granted the exemption as consistent with usual policy.
