Air Bonanza Express is expanding its freighter operations with three leased aircraft to boost intra-Africa and Africa-Asia cargo services, the company told Air Cargo News.

The aircraft to be added include:

  • one Il-76 dedicated to oversized freight on the Mumbai International-Africa corridor through a local partnership in Mumbai;
  • a second Il-76 to be deployed across East and Southern Africa, operating scheduled flights linking the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Pretoria (South Africa), and Djibouti; and
  • a B757-200(F), which will join the fleet at the end of June 2026 to serve regional cargo routes across Africa and the Middle East.

Chief executive Boniface Kimani said the expansion was being made possible through Dubai-based financiers.

The Kenyan cargo specialist previously operated an Il-76, returned to the lessor in January, and a Mi-26T heavy-lift helicopter.

Air Bonanza Express specialises in freight services for United Nations agencies, defence ministries, freight forwarders, and oil and gas clients.
