Amelia (8R, Paris Le Bourget) has signed a letter of intent with start-up Kepplair Evolution to add two ATR72 turboprops converted into water bombers. The aircraft could be deployed primarily in Réunion, a French overseas department in the Indian Ocean. The conversion kit being developed by Kepplair aims to have a quick-change capability, allowing the aircraft to be deployed as freighters, passenger aircraft, or air ambulance as needed. Amelia told ch-aviation that the agreement is non-biding and has not yet committed to operating the aircraft. Kepplair Evolution aims for entry into service in 2027.
