Emerald Airlines (Ireland) (EA, Dublin International) will reinstate aircraft overnights at Donegal airport after the government negotiated adjustments to the public service obligation (PSO) route schedule. The new contract, which entered into force at the end of March 2026, did not include a midday service to Dublin International, which the Donegal community criticised as worsening connectivity. Following talks between the operator and the authorities, an amended scheduled entering into force on May 1 will see the airline resume overnights. This will allow the carrier to replace an early morning departure from Dublin with a midday service. Emerald Airlines operates these flights under the Aer Lingus Regional banner, but at its own commercial risk.
