South Airlines (Ukraine) (Odesa) has temporarily been grounded by the Ukrainian civil aviation authority following the crash of its An-24 UR-WRA (c/n 8709) on approach to Donetsk on February 13. The aircraft was on a football charter flight from Odesa to Donetsk when the pilots lost control of the aircraft shortly before landing with five people being killed in the accident. South Airlines operates another An-24, a Yak-42, an An-30 and two Saab 340Bs on charter services. It also codeshares on a weekly Astra Airlines (Thessaloniki) service between Kyiv Boryspil and Thessaloniki.
